FOREIGN LANGUAGE

 

Redeemer offers a foreign language program for grades kindergarten through 8th grades. Our curriculum is Duolingo, an on-line, game-based program.  This amazing program offers instruction in 19 languages and includes reading, speaking, listening, writing, and translation.

• K – 2nd grade students study Spanish only, with lessons in a whole class format.  Classes are once per week and teacher led.

• 3rd – 5th grade students have individual accounts, study a language of their choice, and work at their own pace.  Classes are once per week. Students choose a language and commit to study that language for the school year.  They may continue the same language the following year or try out a new one if they wish each year.

• 6th – 8th grade students also have individual accounts, study a language of their choice, and work at their own pace.   They choose their language in 6th grade and continue studying that language through 8th grade.  If they reach mastery of a language, they will choose another language to study.  Classes meet three times a week.
